- Land: 16,458 ha (40,669 acres)
'Booroomugga Station' is located 51km from Girilambone and 94km from Nyngan. Comprising of level to undulating country with predominantly soft red loam types rising to some lighter gravel ridges, the property is mainly timbered with Kurrajong, Quandong, Mulga, Pine, Wilga and Rosewood. Wild Orange & Curran Bush are also present. Rangelands grassed by variety of natives, Copper Burr, Clovers Corkscrew, Crowsfoot and herbages in season. There is a current cultivation licence of 2,143ha (5,295 acres).
An opportunity to increase production and carrying capacity with minimal outlay is certainly one of 'Booroomugga Station's' underlying features.
Water capacity and surety of water is a highlight of 'Booroomugga Station' with 22 earth dams and well maintained drains. There is a large double dam at the homestead of approximately 12,000 yards equipped with electric pump that services the homestead, sheds and yards. Annual average rainfall is 15 inches (387mm). The property is dissected by Mailbox and Mulga Creeks timbered predominately with Redgum and Box. A bore is located on Mulga Creek, however it is not currently in use. The vendor estimates depth at 300 ft with approximately 350gph supply.
The property is fenced into 11 main paddocks with 6 smaller holding paddocks around the homestead and yards. There are some older fences, mainly netting, but all in all the property is very well fenced.
The owner estimates 300 cows and their progeny with the potential for agistment stock in addition to this when the season permits, while a set of all steel cattle yards with loading race, crush and calf marking cradle allow for ease of management. The yards boast a five way draft and capacity for approximately 300 head.
Equally suited to sheep and goats, the property boasts a large older wool shed with 22 stands previously in operation. Today there are 5 stands which would take minimum attention to being operational with electric overhead gear. The yards have been improved to handle goats and are constructed of mesh, pipe and timber. The owner harvests approximately 1,000 goats per annum adding significant income in the current market.
The property boasts an extremely comfortable and well presented 4 bedroom brick veneer home built in 1988 with ensuite, separate office, wood heater, separate living areas and covered outdoor entertaining area & coolroom. There is a two bedroom cottage in good condition as well as basic shearers/shooters accommodation used intermittently.
'Booroomugga Station' is a proven low cost grazing operation & needs to be inspected to fully appreciate it's scale and potential to increase production and carrying capacity. It comes with our highest recommendation.
